the sky is crying

acrylic on watercolor canvas - 20x16 in. - framed in a black floater frame
Private Collection St Paul, MN
This painting is a study of how I envision an urban cityscape. The city is the hub of busyness and energy, it seems that the city never sleeps. I wanted to convey a feeling of a tenseness of that energy by painting the city buildings blue while they stood high in the blue clouds as the blue rain fell. This was one of three paintings
that were completed for a Landscape series for my first gallery group show
(2007) at
Evoke Gallery in St Paul.
